Saturday is Forest Lake’s annual Rid Litter Day. The event will take place in the parking lot at Northland Mall, 1432 S. Lake St. (US-61), from 8 a.m. to noon. City residents are welcome to use Rid Litter Day to get rid of appliances, electronics, beds and furniture, carpet, tires and tire rims. Construction debris and materials will also be accepted.

While many items are charged by the item, residents are given a charge of $5 and up for each car load of trash and $25 and up for each pickup or trailer load of trash. Hazardous material products may also be disposed on May 5. The event is sponsored by the city of Forest Lake in cooperation with Forest Lake Sanitation.
