Country music star Rockie Lynne here May 28

Country music fans take note: A hot, young star is headed to Forest Lake this month.

Rockie Lynne will bring his brand of country music to American Legion Post 225 for a one-night concert on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28. The concert is slated from 6-9 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale at $15 each at the Legion Post, 355 W. Broadway Ave. For ticket information, call the Legion at 651-464-2600 or El Ewert at 651-260-5638.

Lynne, who lives in Coon Rapids, but hails from North Carolina, played as a sideman for other country artists for more than a decade before carving his own solo career.

He will perform his well-known hits "Lipstick," "Do We Still," "That's Where Songs Come From," and "More" that are from his breakthrough debut CD, "Rockie Lynne."

The CD also contains a patriotic cut, "Red, White and Blue," which talks about those who have given their all to make this land great.

Prior to signing a recording contract with Universal South Records, Lynne played as many as 300 one-night concerts a year at honky-tonks, bars and clubs while perfecting his craft as a singer, guitar player, song writer and live performer.

Beyond his musical career, Lynne is a co-founder and national spokesperson for the Tribute To The Troops program.

Ewert, a concert promoter, hopes to see a sell out for May 28 and encourages the public to buy tickets in advance.

Because of Lynne's popularity and local ties and the strong following from the Patriot Guard Riders, performances often sell out prior to the concert date.
