Century joins ‘Say Yes to No’ campaign

Two months after launching the Minnesota Say Yes to No campaign, more than 200 schools, including Forest Lake’s Century Junior High School, have joined forces to restore self-discipline in our kids and committed themselves to leading community conversations on raising healthy, successful kids. Minnesota Say Yes to No Schools was formed to help foster the conversation between parents, teachers and other community members. Each Minnesota Say Yes to No School has a supporter who serves as a starting point for those who want to join the conversation. Minnesota Say Yes to No is a campaign that emphasizes self-discipline as the most important life skill that parents and educational leaders can instill in children to help them achieve future success. Using Dr. David Walsh’s latest book, No: Why Kids – of All Ages – Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It, communities have conversations on raising healthy, self-reliant children. Sponsored by the Minnesota Masonic Charities and Fairview Health Services, the campaign is a coalition of 18 parent, educator and health organizations, including the Minnesota Parent Teacher Association, the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals and the Minnesota Elementary School Principals’ Association.
