Midkiff court date moved to April

A federal district court trial date for Neulan D. Midkiff of Forest Lake has now been moved to April, 2008. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis confirmed this week the trial, once set to start in November, has been moved to April 7 when jury selection will begin. Midkiff has been charged with 28 felony counts, including mail fraud, wire fraud and money laundering, in connection with his alleged involvement in a Ponzi investment scheme over several years that collected large sums of money from hundreds of investors living in many states. Midkiff’s trial will be heard by Judge Michael Davis. A trial lasting four to six weeks is expected. Midkiff will be tried along with a second person now indicted by a federal grand jury in the case, Travis Correll of Atlanta, GA.
