Missing woman found at home in Ham Lake
An elderly woman with Alzheimer's disease who wandered away from Wells Fargo Bank in Forest Lake on Thursday has been found safe. Chief of Police Clark Quiring said the woman was found at her home in Ham Lake around 5:30 p.m., some four hours after she was reported missing. Police with help from a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter searched the downtown area throughout the afternoon. Some 12 Forest Lake police officers, the department's canine unit and 20 firefighters from Forest Lake Fire & Rescue were involved in the search. The 75-year-old woman told police she had walked home. She was sleeping in a van when a family member found her. Quiring said it is likely a passerby gave the woman a ride to her home. The woman was uninjured.
