Forest Lake City Council now has a new date for its work session to discuss a three-year city assessing contract with Washington County. The council asked for the work session to look at all options for the next three years and to discuss the service over the past two years. The work session will take place at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Forest Lake City Hall, 220 N. Lake St. The council is expected to discuss new ideas to improve the assessing process. When the council asked for the special work session, members of the council said they were not pleased that the one local appeal that the council approved was rejected by the assessor’s office and the county board acting as the county board of equalization. A council meeting to discuss the matter set for Nov. 14 was called off last week.
