The Forest Lake Times has won several awards in the ECM Publishers, Inc. internal news and advertising awards competition. Abby Nadeau Dahmer, former community editor for the paper, was a first-place winner for best local news story with her reporting on the mayor’s race in Forest Lake. As a newspaper, the Forest Lake Times was awarded second place for general news reporting and third place for typography and design. Sports Editor Glen Strandberg was an honorable mention selection for writer of the year and sportswriter of the year. News Editor Cliff Buchan was an honorable mention selection for best columnist for his Final Draft. The news and advertising awards were announced Monday, Nov. 12 at the ECM Publishers Shareholders Annual Meeting.
