Masquers Theatre Company in Forest Lake invites the community to audition for its production of “The Fantasticks.” Jill Alton will direct the upcoming play early next year.

This 1960s musical concerns two matchmaking fathers who build a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love.

But once the couple is united, the real drama begins.

Auditions will take place on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1 from 1-3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive.

Callbacks will be on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.

Those wishing to audition are asked to bring a short prepared song (accompanist will be provided), a list of conflicts, and be prepared to read from the script.

Performance dates are Feb. 14-16, 22-24, Feb. 29-Mar. 2, 2008 at the Ironwood Banquet Center at Dummys Bar & Grill in Forest Lake.
