Kieger, Rapheal, Grafft, Bresin win reelection to the Forest Lake School Board
They ran as a team and they won as a team. The four incumbent members of the ISD 831 School Board were reelected on Tuesday, beating back four challengers.
Dan Kieger of Lino Lakes was the top vote getter among the eight candidates, receiving 2724 votes. Rob Rapheal of Scandia was second with 2714. Joe Grafft of Linwood came in third with 2650 votes. Current Board President Bill Bresin of Forest Lake was fourth with 2568.
The challengers were led by Linda Yeager of Wyoming who collected 2112 votes. Dick Tschida, a former school board, city council and town board member in Forest Lake, was sixth with 2052 votes. John Freed of Columbus picked up 1964 votes. Jim Banta of Wyoming was last in the field with 1798 votes.
The four winners will begin four-year terms on the school board on Jan. 1, 2008. The school board will meet in special session at 6 p.m., Thursday to officially canvass the results of the Nov. 6 election.
