American Education Week events set in FL
Throughout the week of Nov. 12-16, schools across the Forest Lake Area School District will host Educator for a Day events as part of the National Education Association’s American Education Week celebration. The Educator for a Day program allows individuals from the community to serve as special guest teachers or principals. The special guest gets a behind-the-scene look at the life of an educator on a normal day - from teaching and working with students, to collaborating with staff and parents. Some of the guest educators are: Scott Westpahl, pastor of Elim Church in Scandia, Max Stephens, owner of Max’s Groove House and Big Apple Bagel in Forest Lake, Mel Mettler, mayor of Columbus City, Kelly Roberts, Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake, and Anne Hurlburt, city administrator in Scandia.
