FL Council meetings set for Nov. 14

Forest Lake City Council has called two special meetings for Wednesday, Nov. 14. The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a proposed three-year contract to retain the Washington County Assessor's Office. Several members of the council have questioned the use of the county assessor and asked for the work session. The county’s Kevin Corbid will explain the proposal. At the council's meeting on Monday night, city resident and park board member Kris Martin also appealed to the council to review all options for assessing. In the second meeting on Nov. 14, the council will go into closed session to discuss labor negotiations with its labor unions. Contracts for 2008 and 2009 are up for renewal. The second session is tentatively slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. The two meetings will be at Forest Lake City Hall, 220 N. Lake St.
