Veterans from throughout the area will be honored in Forest Lake on Sunday. A Veteran’s Day tribute is being planned by members of American Legion Post 225 and VFW Post 4210 here. Sunday’s program is at 5 p.m. at Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Ave. The public is encouraged to attend.

Guest speaker for the program is Senior Master Sgt. James W. Shegstad, recruiting and retention superintendent for the Minnesota Air National Guard. The program will pay honor to all veterans from the area. The public is invited to attend the program and stay for snacks and refreshments that will be served. Post 225 Commander Rich Weber will lead the program. Lee Goodyear, Post 4210 commander, will also be at the head table.

On Saturday, Nov. 10, the 3rd Platoon of the Metro Marines will host the 232nd birthday party of the United States Marine Corps at Post 225. The event begins at 6 p.m. All area Marines are invited to attend this casual event and enjoy a free buffet dinner and cake ceremony. For more information, call 612-987-1523.
