The Washington County Board of Commissioners has agreed to continue a program which allows the county to devote a portion of the proceeds from tax forfeited sales of property to a fund benefitting Washington County parks. State law allows the county to devote up to 20 percent of the proceeds from tax forfeited sales to the maintenance and acquisition of parks. Over the last three years, such sales have provided $385,000 toward Washington County park improvements.
