Washington County reminds residents that payments for many types of property taxes have deadlines approaching. The following property tax information is being publicized as a reminder of the second half payment date and penalties for not paying on or before the deadline. Also contained in this notice is other important property tax information. Real Property - first installment due Oct. 15; Agriculture - first installment due Nov. 15; Manufactured homes - first installment due Nov. 15. Residents should see their individual tax statement for payment dates and amounts. Property tax payments may be made at the Public Service Counter in the Washington County Service Center in Forest Lake, 19955 Forest Road N. and at the Washington County Taxpayer Services Office in the County Government Center in Stillwater. A penalty of 2 percent for homestead and 4 percent for non-homestead property must be added to second-half tax balances paid after the Oct. 15 deadline. Additional penalties are applied to unpaid taxes on the first of each month, beginning with Nov. 1, until paid.
