The Washington County Board of Commissioners has set the annual Truth in Taxation hearing for 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6. The annual hearing is held to discuss and seek public comment on the proposed 2008 budget and levy. If necessary, a continuation hearing will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18. After the hearing, the board will adopt the final levy and budget for 2008. The hearing will take place in the County Board Room located at the Washington County Government Center in Stillwater, off of TH-36 at 14949 62nd Street N. The county board recently set a maximum net tax levy of $81.1 million; a 6.9 percent increase over 2007.
