Talent show to benefit Helping Hand in FL
“That’s Entertainment: A Community Variety Show” promises to be a night filled with Broadway’s hit songs, national award winning dance numbers and accomplished musicians.
Masquer’s Theater Company new-comer Stephanie Anderson will perform a number from last summer’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” while veteran Katie Gross will belt out a tune from the Broadway hit musical “Wicked.”
Dance Tech Dance Company, lead by award-winning choreographer Robin Lind, will show off their fancy footwork, performing a few numbers they’ve competitively taken to the national level.
The audience will be awe-struck when accomplished pianists Jim Lindstrom and Bill Munson tickle the ivories in a piano duet that promises to be amusing and compelling.
Rounding out the evening are vocal quartets, ensemble performances, comedy and the Bells of Faith. Emcee Bobby Dale will keep the program moving along.
“It’s great to see the community coming together in this way,” said Dale, also known as Bob Engquist to many, who was the emcee at the Minnesota State Fair’s Bandshell for 26 years.
The family-friendly variety show is slated for Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in Faith Lutheran Church’s Faith Life Center.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children and are on sale at Faith Lutheran Church and the Yellow Bus.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Community Helping Hand and Benevolent Fund, which financially assists anyone in a time of need who seeks help from a church in the Forest Lake area.
Funds raised will be matched by Thrivent Financial, up to $1600.
