Linwood celebrates Family Fun Day Saturday

On Saturday, area residents are invited to attend a day of fun, food and entertainment from 6:30 a.m. to midnight at the Linwood Family Fun Day.

Starting at 6:30 a.m., a french toast breakfast will be served by the Forest Lake Masons. All the proceeds from the $5 tickets will go to the Senior Center and Linwood Family Fun Day.

The 5K walk/run will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Linwood Covenant Church.

The cost for the event is $8, which includes a T-Shirt, refreshments and ride back to the starting line.

The car show will start at 9 a.m. and will continue until 3 p.m. Several different cars will be on display in the vicinity of the Linwood Town Hall.

An on-stage pie eating contest will start at 3 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Wyoming Village Inn, costs $5.

KARE 11’s award winning reporter, Karla Hult, will stop by the event from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Other events include a co-ed softball tournament, an award ceremony for Chris Beck, storytelling by Duke Addicks, fireworks, a kiddie parade and autograph signing by former WWE’s Molly Holly and Linwood native, Nora Greenwald.

The Firemen’s Dance will begin at 8 p.m. at the Linwood Fire Station.

The dance will feature The Killer Hayseeds and will stop for a short while at 9 p.m. to view the fireworks. It will continue until midnight.
