There will be a splash of Hollywood when Dalawood has its annual Taco Daze celebration on Saturday, Sept. 8.

For the 32nd year in a row, Scandia will roll out the red carpet with Taco Daze. The community celebration started in 1975 and is sponsored this year by the Scandia-Marine Lions Club with strong business backing.

The theme this year is “Hooray for Dalawood” as the celebration includes a Swedish movie star Look-A-Like Contest.

Highlights of the Scandia celebration include the Taco Daze Grand Parade at 3 p.m. along Oakhill Road through the downtown. Tacos and taco salads made by local Scouts will be served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. inside the Scandia Community Center.

The community center grounds will be the staging area for many of the events.
