The first of 2012

Adalyn Amber Shuey was supposed to be a Christmas baby, but she surprised her parents, Erik and Amber Shuey of Pine City, by arriving a week late to become the first baby of the New Year at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming.  Born at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, Adalyn weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and was 21-inches long. “We never dreamed we’d have the New Year’s baby,” Amber said. The Shueys had been expecting their baby to arrive just before Christmas. Amber was induced on Friday, Dec. 29, but little Adalyn kept her parents waiting until the new year. Erik Shuey is a fifth generation family farmer and Amber is a photographer.
