Newspaper wins 2 MNA awards
The Forest Lake Times claimed two second-place awards in the annual Better Newspaper Contest sponsored by the Minnesota Newspaper Association. The newspaper claimed one of the awards for advertising excellence in the circulation class for newspapers with circulation of more than 5000. Editor Cliff Buchan received a second-place award for tornado coverage in the category, local breaking news coverage. The story was headlined: “As tornado approaches FL, sirens fail.” The awards were announced during the annual Minnesota Newspaper Association Convention in Blooming on Jan. 26-27.
