St. Peter’s celebrates Catholic Schools Week

Ann P. Laird
Principal, St. Peter’s Catholic School

Catholic Schools Week—Jan. 29 to Feb 3—is the national celebration of Catholic education and one of the highlights of the year at St. Peter’s Catholic School.

This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.” This theme expresses what Catholic schools are all about. We teach our students faith, not just the basics of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God.

We hold them to high academic standards and do everything we can to help students reach their full potential. We also teach them how to serve, both as a way to express their faith and to become good citizens.

Also, during this week, we want to say thank you to those who help make St. Peter’s Catholic School a success: our teachers, staff, administrators, board members, parents, volunteers, and the local community. Through their dedication and commitment, our students are learning in a culture of faith, academics and service that is preparing them for a full life in their families, faith and communities.

Please join us in concluding this week’s celebration by attending our school carnival this Friday, Feb. 3rd from 5-8 p.m.
