FLHS alpine skier Krista Kirchner qualified for the state meet during Tuesday’s section race at Giant’s Ridge. The state meet will take place next Wednesday, Feb. 15, also at the Biwabik ski hill.
The senior took fifth out of 100 racers at sections with a combined time of 1:23.78. Her first run of 42.18 was the seventh-fastest in the field, and she followed up with a second run of 41.50, which was the fourth-fastest.
As a team, the Ranger girls finished eighth out of 19 schools. The boys took 10th, led by a 24th-place effort from senior Cody Eggers.
The Mounds View and Hermantown girls’ teams qualified for state, as did the Chisago Lakes and Duluth East boys.
