Junior and senior high students are invited to take opportunity to visit the Minnesota State Capitol building in St. Paul on Wednesday, March 7. The date of the field trip falls within Spring Break for Forest Lake Area Schools and North Lakes Academy.
Attendees will get to meet with local senators and representatives to learn about the work they do as well as speak their mind about the importance of out-of-school time programming for teens. Also, go on a guided tour of the building from the Minnesota Historical Society.
The group will meet at 9:15 a.m. in the Central Learning Center’s cafeteria, 200 SW 4th St., and then traveling to and from St. Paul by a Forest Lake Area Schools bus or van. Pick up will be at 3 p.m. at the CLC.
This field trip is co-sponsored by Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau and Forest Lake Area Schools Community Education. Photos of students will be taken and used for promotional purposes by FLASCE and LAYSB. Bring a bag lunch. There is no cost to attend this field trip, but pre-registration is required by Friday, March 2.
