Knights avenge Rangers, reach state wrestling meet
Top-seeded St. Michael-Albertville avenged a loss on its way to winning the Section 7AAA wrestling title on Friday. The Knights, ranked third in the state, beat No. 7 Forest Lake 34-19 in the semifinals. The fourth-seeded Rangers beat the Knights during The Clash tournament in Rochester midway through the season.
St. Michael-Albertville went on to beat the No. 2 seed, Cambridge-Isanti, by a score of 34-19 in the finals. Forest Lake reached the semis with a 40-26 win over Anoka in the first round.
