Ben Zierke named to state GOP post
The Republican Party of Minnesota has hired Wyoming native Ben Zierke as its executive director. MNGOP Chair Pat Shortridge announced the hiring on Friday, Feb. 17. “Ben brings a wealth of experience in grassroots politics,” Shortridge said. “His background will ensure that our party is focused on its core missions of identifying and persuading voters so we win in November, retaining our legislative majorities, returning our members of Congress to DC, and taking advantage of any opportunities that present themselves.” Zierke is a 2003 graduate of Forest Lake High School and 2007 graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. After college, he served as a field representative for the Leadership Institute in Minnesota and the Dakotas. In 2008, he served as the five-state director of the McCain Regional Coalitions. From 2009-2010, Zierke served as political director for the Seifert for Governor Campaign. In 2010, he was the deputy campaign manager for Demmer for Congress. During the 2011 legislative session, he worked for the Minnesota Senate Republican Caucus.
