Five FL wrestlers qualify for state
Five Forest Lake wrestlers will be in action at this weekend’s state tournament at the Xcel Energy Center. Seniors Michael Pleski (126 pounds), Ben Morgan (132) and Tyler Isaacson (138) each won their bracket at Saturday’s Section 7AAA individual meet in Elk River. Senior Michael Urban (170) and ninth-grader James Pleski (113) qualified for state by placing second.
In Friday’s first round, James Pleski (32-10) will face White Bear Lake junior Andy Martin (30-9). Pleski is ranked sixth in the state, while Martin is unranked.
Michael Pleski (30-7) will face Buffalo senior Lucas Mock (29-9). Pleski is ranked fifth in the state, while Mock is unranked.
Morgan (34-2) will face Northfield sophomore Carsen Canedy (36-5). Morgan is ranked first in the state and Canedy is ranked sixth.
Isaacson (35-6) will face Wilmar eighth-grader Colten Carlson (29-6). Isaacson is ranked fifth in the state, while Carlson is unranked.
Urban (31-7) will face Albert Lea senior Trey Hable (23-3). Hable is ranked second in the state and Urban is ranked seventh.
