Four of five FL wrestlers win first state bout

The first round of the Class AAA individual state wrestling tournament held this morning went well for Forest Lake, as four out of five grapplers came away victorious.

  • James Pleski took control in the opening seconds against White Bear Lake’s Andy Martin and cruised to a 15-0 technical fall which came early in the third period of his 113-pound bout.
  • 126-pounder Michael Pleski rolled to a 10-1 decision over Lucas Mock of Buffalo.
  • Ben Morgan pulled away as the match went on to beat Northfield’s Carsen Canedy 7-1 in the 132-pound bracket.
  • In the 138-pound bracket, Tyler Isaacson earned an 11-3 decision over Wilmar’s Colten Carlson.
  • 170-pounder Mike Urban was pinned in the first period by Albert Lea’s Trey Hable.
