Lille will move to Woodbury, won’t challenge Vandeveer
After spending some time reviewing the new boundaries which adjusted Sen. Ted Lillie’s current senate district, coupled with personal decisions previously made within the Lillie family, Lillie has announced will run for reelection in Senate District 53 in 2012, which encompasses much of his previous district in Woodbury.
Redistricting placed Lille of Lake Elmo in the same district as Sen. Ray Vandeveer of Forest Lake who has served in the legislature since 1998, the past six years in the Senate.
“Our family dynamics have changed over the past few years, and Lynne and I have discussed in length moving to Woodbury. I ran in 2010 to serve, and I do not feel that my work in the legislature is done. I am excited to make this move into the new Senate District 53 for our family first, but also for the opportunity to seek re-election,” said Senator Lillie.
Senator Lillie continued, “Presently, we are in the middle of this legislative session and a lot of work needs to be accomplished. I will continue to represent and work for the people who elected me in Woodbury, Lake Elmo, Stillwater and the surrounding communities. I’m looking forward to the SD 53 Republican endorsing convention, and the start of the full campaign season in a few months where I’ll be working hard to meet new members of Senate District 53.”
