Richard F. Cartier Jr., 66, of Castillonnès, France, formerly of Lino Lakes, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 unexpectedly near his home in France.
He attended Forest Lake and Centennial schools. He spent more than 30 years managing development projects in Africa and Asia.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, May 18th at St. Genevieve Catholic Cemetery, Centerville.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; two daughters, Cyrille (Sasa) Cartier, and Diana (Craig) Cartier; siblings, Joseph (Cheri), Bruce (Theresa), Russell (Diana), Denise (Kearney) Breland, Michael (Penny), Roxann (Kevan) Goulet, Annette Cartier, and Nadine (Tim) Bishop; other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Lucille Cartier; one niece, Shannon (nee Crohn) Kearney; one nephew, Neil Cartier; and one brother-in-law, Gérard.
Donations may be directed to the family for either “Room to Read” or to contribute to the education of three daughters of a single Ugandan mother who Cartier knew and supported.
