American Legion Post 225 will have its fifth annual fish fry fundraiser for the 4th of July celebration from 5-8 p.m., Friday, March 23 at Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Ave. The night will also feature the “Throw a Pie in the Face” fundraiser which is a live auction and throwing of the pies. The pie throwing will begin at 6:30 and run throughout the dinner. “The pie throwing has become one of our biggest fundraisers and a crowd favorite,” said Post 225 Commander Krista Goodyear, who also serves as parade co-chair. Post 225 continues to recruit volunteers to take pie in the face to help support the fireworks and parade funds. Already in line to take a pie in the face are Fire Chief Gary Sigfrinius, Police Chief Rick Peterson, Councilman Jim DeFour, County Commissioner Dennis Hegberg and State Rep. Bob Dettmer. Anyone wishing to volunteer is asked to call Goodyear at 651-214-7745.
