Annual expo moved to Century Junior High
It’s not too late to make sure you have a presence at the 2012 Community Home and Business Show this Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Century Junior High, 21395 Goodview Ave. N.
The event is co-sponsored by the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and ISD 831 Community Education.
“We still take exhibits pretty much until the day of,” said Colleen Eddy, Chamber president.
She noted there was little interest in the seminars that had been held in the past, so the 2012 show was scaled back and moved from the Forest Lake Area Athletic Association Sports Complex. There will be around 40 booths set up in the school gymnasium.
With the unusually warm weather, attendance is difficult to predict.
“If it’s a really nice day, people might not want to be indoors,” said Gretchen Boyd.
She is the owner of Boyd’s Promos based in Hugo. It opened as a family operated business in 1987, with the mission of providing unique and creative ideas to customers, through the use of promotional product marketing.
“We’re coming back for a second year,” Boyd said of the expo.
Their philosophy is simple: “We’re In Business to Promote Your Business.” Boyd’s has created paraphernalia for the Chamber including coffee mugs and a Christmas ornament.
