The “Goddess” of stand-up comedy is coming to Running Aces Harness Park on Saturday night.

Judy Tenuta, a 30-year comedy veteran and star of HBO, Showtime and Lifetime network specials, will headline a comedy act that starts at 7:30 p.m. The show is a production of Wild Bill Bauer and the Laugh Your Ace Off Comedy Club.

“I can’t wait to get back to Minnesota,” Tenuta said in a telephone interview from California last week. The Chicago native has traveled the country and made a number of acts in Minnesota, including shows with another veteran comic, Scott Hansen.

Tenuta was the first female stand-up comic to win “Best Female Comedian” at the American Comedy Awards and is a two-time Grammy nominee for her comedy CD’S,  “Attention Butt-Pirates” and “Lesbetarians!” and “In Goddess We Trust,” That same year, she became the national spokesperson for a series of Diet Dr. Pepper commercials. The self-described “Love Goddess” and “Aphrodite of the Accordion” has made hundreds of guest and co-hosting appearances on such popular TV shows as “The View,” “Late Night with David Letterman,” “Larry King Live,” “Entertainment Tonight,” and “Comics Unleashed.”

Her stand-up routine is appropriately described as outrageous, mind-blowing comedy. She recently became an ordained minister, and converts her audiences to her signature religion, “Judyism.” She is also an author with a recently published book, “Full Frontal Tenudity!”

Tickets for the Running Aces performance are $20 each. They can be purchased online at or by telephone at 651-925-4600, Ext. 0.
