Golfers place 18th in opener

The Ranger girls’ golf team swung through cold conditions on Monday as part of their season-opening event. They placed 18th out of 19 at the Irondale Invitational at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine with a team score of 421.

Sophomore Maggie Jeans led the team with a score of 96. Seventh-grader Maddy Messin shot 100, senior Maddie Carey shot 106 and junior Emily Proulx closed the scoring with 109. Minnewaska and Stillwater tied for the title with team scores of 337.

Forest Lake looks to shoot better as the Suburban East Conference slate gets underway today, April 19, at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury. Conference play continues Monday at Stillwater Country Club.
