Shawn L. Otto wins state book award

Shawn Lawrence Otto of May Township has won a Minnesota Book Awards honor for “Fool Me Twice: Fighting the Assault on Science in America” (Rodale). The award was announced Saturday night in St. Paul during the 24th annual awards program. The book, entered in the general nonfiction category, is an expose on anti-science views in modern-day America that traces the relationship between science and politics throughout history. Otto is an award-winning screenwriter. He co-founded the political initiative, “Science Debate 2008.” He is the husband of Minnesota State Auditor Rebecca Otto.
