St. John’s Lutheran will host 25th community dinner
Meal is Sunday, April 22 in Stacy
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stacy will be holding their 25th Annual Community Dinner on Sunday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 3-12, and $20 for a family; two adults and up to four youth to age 12. Children under 3-years-old eat for free.
Tickets may be purchased by calling the church office at 651-462-5115.
The entire community is invited to join in on a spectacular ham and turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. The proceeds of this event help to support St. John’s Lutheran Church and its many community outreach programs.
This year’s event is one of special significance as St. John’s celebrates its first anniversary as a member of the Lutheran Congregations in Missions for Christ. The Stacy church has experienced many blessings over the past year, including the addition of a new pastoral intern, Ben Hollingsead.
He is a student at the Luther Seminary School in St. Paul. Hollingsead is originally from Nebraska.
His wife, Amber, is the daughter of Craig and Denise Dahl of North Branch. When it came time to select a church for his internship, Hollingsead searched for one within the LC-MC.
In January of this year, he contacted St. John’s. It was the first and only call he needed to make. In a unanimous decision by the church council, Hollingsead will be serving a nine-month internship with St. John’s beginning in May of 2012.
