Lacrosse comeback falls short for FL
Boys hang tough at East Ridge
Last week, the Ranger boys’ lacrosse team once again came close to breaking into the win column. Forest Lake played its best game of the season according to coach Jon Loo in an 8-5 loss at East Ridge.
The Rangers fell behind early, but adjusted their defense and closed the gap to two goals heading into the final quarter.
“[We] had all the momentum of the game,” said Loo. “Some unfortunate breaks ended our comeback, but we’re very encouraged by the way the boys kept playing and improving as the game went along.”
Forest Lake got a lift in the return of junior Dan Mollet, who scored twice and added an assist. Senior Luke Morgan produced the same stat line, while senior Andrew Egle found the net for the second straight game.
Loo said Matt Meyer and senior Vincent Eck stood out on defense.
The Rangers (0-5) were set to host Hastings this Wednesday. They head to Irondale on Friday and Mounds View next Monday before hosting Park next Wednesday.
“The boys are primed for a win,” Loo said.
