Forest Lake hung with Mounds View for awhile Monday night but eventually fell 16-9 in the girls’ lacrosse battle. Johanna Haseltine notched 15 saves.

In other action, the girls beat Hastings 19-5 and fell to Mahtomedi 16-5 last week. Emma Matheisen had five goals in the win.

“I’m proud of the girls’ progress,” said coach Krista Seipel. “They had a stellar win last week.  Although they’ve lost the two games, their skills continue to grow greatly.

“I was proud watching them implement our new offense successfully multiple times [in the Mounds View game.] We have some tough games ahead, but I’m confident that the girls will continue to play with both determination and intensity.”

Forest Lake plays at Park this Wednesday, hosts Roseville next Monday and plays at Stillwater next Wednesday.
