The Forest Lake softball team’s perfect record was in peril late into Thursday’s game at Mounds View, but the Rangers rallied for a 4-2, eight-inning win, running their record to 14-0.
Micah McGuiness tied the game 2-2 with a single in the top of the sixth inning, then plated the go-ahead run with a groundout in the eighth. Dana Mogren and Jenn Zidar started the eighth-inning rally with hits. Mikayla Watters followed McGuiness and doubled to score an insurance run.
Michelle LaCasse picked up the win. She allowed just three hits.
With the win, the Rangers clinched at least a share of the Suburban East Conference title. There are four SEC games remaining. Forest Lake is off until Monday, when Park comes to town.
