Charles L. Carpenter

Charles Lee “Charlie” Carpenter, 91, Forest Lake, died at home on Monday, May 7. He was the former owner of Charlie’s Place Cafe in Forest Lake.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, May 11 at Forest Lake Christian Church,  420 W. Broadway Ave., Forest Lake.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, May 10 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Forest Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Donna; children, Ken (Joanne), Larry, Terri (Randy) Cohrs, Jody (Neil) Cowdin; four grandchildren, Kyle Griffin, Corissa Hermsen, Kelsea Chamberlin and Jennifer Carpenter; siblings, Luella Poe, Effie Peterson and Mary Walsten.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janine Marie; siblings, Mae Baxter, Emery Carpenter, Calvin Carpenter and Dave Carpenter.

    Charlie will always be remembered by me, as a kind kind man who always had a ready smile, and warm greeting. So as I remember him , his memory will always bring a smile, and wish I could have known him longer.
