Washington County and the city of Hugo will work together to accept a bid for road work, which will include CR-8 pavement preservation and a city pavement maintenance project. The city is overseeing all design and construction administration. The county is responsible only for those costs associated with CR-8. The city’s project is in the Lake Air Estates and Bald Eagle Estates. As a part of the agreement, the county board had the opportunity to consider the bid award for the project prior to the city’s approval. Bids were received by the city April 25, showing Dresel Contracting, Inc., of Chisago City submitting the apparent lowest bid for $431,667 for the CR-8 mill and overlay. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $516,190.
