The Class of 2012 will earn diplomas soon and thanks to strong community support, the Forest Lake High School graduates will once again have a safe, fun atmosphere to celebrate after the ceremony on Thursday, June 7.
The Senior All-Night Graduation Party will kick off at Southwest Junior High School immediately following commencement and party-goers are expected to stay until 5 a.m. on Friday. As much as two-thirds of the graduating class has attended the event in recent years.
The night’s feature entertainer is hypnotist Norm Knight, who has been a big hit at the event in previous years. Other activities include casino games, pool hall games, human darts, karaoke, movies, swimming pool games, music by a DJ, henna tattoos and more. Prizes will be awarded throughout the night for various games, and each attendee will be put in a drawing for several large prizes valued up to $300. Plenty of food and drink will be served.
Advance tickets will be on sale for $40 during lunch each day this week. Tickets will be $50 at the door. The price covers all activities, so no extra money is needed during the party.
This year’s party theme is “The World Is Ours,” and senior Jessica Lindemyer won the logo contest.
For over three decades, the community has put on a chemical-free graduation celebration alternative. Each year’s success depends on donations and volunteers.
