Motorcyclist killed on US-61 in Forest Lake
A Stillwater man was killed Friday night after losing control of his cycle and crashing on US-61 at 240th Street in Forest Lake.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Scott L. Vikander, 45, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control and was thrown from the cycle. 240th Street is the border between Washington and Chisago counties.
The crash was reported at 6:34 p.m.
Officers from the Forest Lake and Wyoming police departments and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
We live right by where this happened and it was awful. SO tragic, I hope people realize that this happens everyday somewhere, and it could be them next. My husband and I dont know this guy or didnt, but It impacted us like he was family. All sympathies go out to his family and friends that were with him that night.
