The Forest Lake boys’ lacrosse team opened the playoffs with a Section 4 game at Totino-Grace Tuesday night.

The Rangers (2-11) finished the regular season with an 18-5 home loss to Andover last Thursday.

Coming off a big loss the prior contest, coach Jon Loo was pleased to see the Rangers get more possessions via ground balls and faceoffs. In particular, junior Josh Mester stood out by winning each of his faceoffs.

Totino-Grace (9-3) presented a tough task for the third-year Forest Lake program. Loo said the Eagles are athletic, well-coached and skilled. The Rangers will focus on gaining possession.

“Should be a tough battle for our boys,” Loo said. “No matter the outcome, though, we’re very proud of our progress this season.”
