A Kettle River Blvd. headache

With heavy rains hitting the area in the past week, there have been plenty of weather related headaches. And one of the headaches isn’t going away soon. A culvert collapsed leading to a sink hole opening on Kettle River Blvd. in the city of Columbus last weekend forcing the county road to be closed in the 16500 block. The closing is between Howard Lake Drive and Columbus City Hall. Detour signs are posted. The big hole in the road was a tourist attraction of sorts as people stopped to look, but not get too close. Here Pam and Ryan Wolowski of Columbus stopped to take a look while out for a Sunday bicycle ride. Anoka County was slated to begin repairs on Thursday, May 31. Repairs could take three to five days to complete. (Photo by Cliff Buchan)
