The summer fun begins Friday, June 8, with family-friendly storytelling around the campfire by award-winning children’s author Tracy Nelson Maurer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Coates RV Center on W. Freeway Drive in Columbus, rain or shine. The free event features homemade BBQ sandwiches and, s’mores. The schedule includes storytelling at 5:30 and 6:45, with opportunities to purchase books and visit with the author. A Forest Lake resident, Tracy Nelson Maurer has written more than 80 nonfiction and fiction children’s books and spoken at schools, libraries, and other venues throughout Minnesota and as far as California.
