A Robbinsdale man with a habitual habit of driving without a license has been caught again — this time in Forest Lake.

Forest Lake Police Capt. Greg Weiss said the early Friday morning stop of James Nicholas Damiani, 38, of 4203 Halifax Ave., marked the 50th time the Robbinsdale man has been ticketed for a license violation.

Weiss said Damiani, 38, was stopped at 1:47 a.m. on south US-61 (Lake Street) near Northland Mall after police observed a motorcycle with no license plate.

A check of DMV records determined Damiani was driving after revocation, had no motorcycle endorsement and no insurance on the motorcycle. Weiss said a review of Minnesota Department of Public Safety records revealed that the Robbinsdale man has 50 DAR-related convictions on his record.

“That’s the most I’ve ever heard of,” Weiss said.

Damiani’s record includes a long string of DAR, no insurance and no motorcycle endorsement convictions dating back to 1994, Weiss said. The man has only traffic related offenses and no drunk-driving convictions, Weiss added.

Weiss said police don’t know why Damiani was in Forest Lake at that time of the morning.

He was taken to the Washington County Jail in Stillwater where he was booked and held on the misdemeanor offenses.
