The city of Forest Lake and the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will co-sponsor a workshop for businesses to learn how to start or improve their marketing efforts online.
The workshop will discuss challenges and changes facing businesses today in reaching a diverse customer base.
The workshop is offered at no cost from 7:30-9 a.m., Tuesday, June 26 in the old library space at Forest Lake City Hall, 220 N. Lake St.
Participants will hear about new trends in how people use the internet and mobile devices to shop, and learn some of the new internet-based marketing tools to help businesses succeed in reaching new customers and building loyalty with existing customers.
Valuable marketing data specific to the Forest Lake region will be provided and used as examples for discussion from the recently completed Forest Lake Market Area Profile authored by John Bennett and Ryan Pesch, with the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Community Vitality.
A Market Area Profile organizes data from multiple sources into a comprehensive description of those who shop in and visit your community – their demographics, purchasing power, lifestyles, information sources and values.
Please RSVP your attendance by contacting Forest Lake Community Development Director Doug Borglund at 651-209-9734 or Colleen Eddy of the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 651-464-3200.
