Four key acts coming to FL’s Arts in the Park gazebo stage

Starting on Tuesday, June 26 with popular duo Lehto & Wright

Four well-known performers are waiting in the wings to take the stage at the Arts in the Park summer concert series at Lakeside Memorial Park in downtown Forest Lake.

The regular summer series of Tuesday night entertainment on the gazebo stage continues on June 26 with a performance by Lehto & Wright. The concert is at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the Arts in the Park arts and craft sales and food vendors.

Joining the duo is Matt Jacobs on drums and percussion. His background is similar.

A farmers market is also hosted in the park every Tuesday evening.

The Minneapolis based duo of Steven Lehto and John Wright have a wide array of influences, ranging from progressive folk pioneers to King Crimson, Miles Davis, and Richard Thompson. Collectively, their backgrounds include jazz, blues, fusion, pop, Latin and rock.

But three more cracker jack bands will be on stage the following week.

On Tuesday, July 3, guitar player by night and stock broker by day Dave Purdy will front Bullseye in a 7 p.m. performance.

The performance by Bullseye comes during the fast pace of Forest Lake’s Independence Day community celebration that runs Friday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 4.

The July 3 concert will be the first of three in two days sponsored by the Forest Lake Park Board.

Two more come on Wednesday, July 4. The popular band  Shake Down will perform at 5:30 p.m. on the gazebo stage.

Shake Down will be followed by local singer-musician Charlie O who will take the stage for his annual fireworks concert at 8 p.m. Ollmann will rock and roll and sing ballads up until the American Legion’s gigantic fireworks display at 10 p.m. over First Lake.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and arrive early.
