Fundraisers lead up to Relay for Life
Goal of $112,000 set for Aug. 3 event
Organizers hope the 19th annual Forest Lake Relay for Life will raise $112,000 to fight cancer, and several local events will help kick-start the fundraising leading into the Aug. 3 event.
Next up is a vendors’ expo scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 24 at the American Legion Post 225. From noon to 4 p.m., over a dozen vendors will display and sell products. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Relay for Life.
The Forest Lake Culver’s restaurant will donate 10 percent of sales on all purchases from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 14.
Two events are slated for Saturday, July 21. The Relay ‘Fore’ Life Golf Outing tees off at Castlewood Golf Course. The four-person scramble costs $250 per team and includes 18 holes with cart, a box lunch and a gift. Several hole awards and contests will be held. Contact Shelly at 982-6702 or email@example.com for more information.
That same day, a book sale will take place outside of Walmart. Those looking to donate popular books can do so at Faith Lutheran Church.
Also, a Relay for Life cash raffle is being held. Tickets are available from Relay for Life team members or at The Yellow Bus Children’s Shoppe, 826 S. Lake St. in Forest Lake.
Cancer survivors are invited to this year’s Survivors Reunion. The eighth-annual event starts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 at Hosanna Lutheran Church.
