Forest Lake police officer Jon Glader recently received the city’s Public Safety Award of Meritorious Service. Glader is the liaison officer at Forest Lake High School. His work there led school officials to nominate him for the award. In particular, they praised his work in coordinating the school’s “Every 15 Minutes” mock car crash and funeral.

“He is constantly looking for ways to better improve the security of our staff and students, building relationships with students, staff and community members, while maintaining a level of professionalism that is unsurpassed,” the letter of nomination stated. Glader, whom Peterson calls a “rising star” in the department, joined FLPD in 2005. He received a certificate and a ribbon of recognition to be worn on his uniform.
